Donald Trump is appointing his long time lawyer Jason Greenblatt as Representative for International Negotiation.
Here’s my problem. Isn’t this what the Secretary of State is for? What the hell is the point of the State Department then?
This just looks like Trump is trying to consolidate power in the White House among people who need no senate confirmation.
“NEW YORK — Donald Trump’s chief Israel adviser doesn’t believe in briefing books or in sharing topical news articles with his boss. He has no formal background in foreign policy. And his most extensive writing about the Middle East comes in the form of a family travel guide to Israel that he penned with his wife.”
Per this Joint statement between Greenblatt and Trumps new ambassador to Israel, it appears that we are going to have the most extreme pro Israel policy in US history as seen below
· The U.S. should cut off funds for the UN Human Rights Council, a body dominated by countries presently run by dictatorships that seems solely devoted to slandering the Jewish State. UNESCO’s attempt to disconnect the State of Israel from Jerusalem is a one-sided attempt to ignore Israel’s 3,000-year bond to its capital city, and is further evidence of the enormous anti-Israel bias of the United Nations.
· The U.S. will recognize Jerusalem as the eternal and indivisible capital of the Jewish state and Mr. Trump’s Administration will move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem
· The Trump administration will ask the Justice Department to investigate coordinated attempts on college campuses to intimidate students who support Israel.
Here’s an Interview with him stating that a two state solution isn’t the answer and that settlements are off the table.
In other news, KellyAnne Conway was finally given a job as Counselor to the president. I wonder what he has on her to keep her on staff because she’s totally out of his league. It’s a good hire.
Sean Spicer as Press Secretary is interesting too given his bad temperament.
